I’ve spent a decade living and working in six different countries, learning to communicate in the face of every conceivable obstacle. I’ve spent years using the English language every single day to bridge barriers and reach across cultural divides. Cross-cultural communication isn’t something I’ve dabbled in or learned about in a seminar. It’s my way of life.

I know that conditions are often not optimal for effective communication, but I also know exactly how to help people nonetheless understand that there is something important they need to hear.

As a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in China, and as a Fulbright recipient in Indonesia, I learned the value of English as a tool to bridge cultural gaps and make powerful connections between people. I spent years teaching oral and written English to language learners full-time, giving me a sharp eye for grammar and sentence fluency. Before moving abroad, I ran a successful ecommerce business for three years, selling used books through Amazon.com to customers all over the world.

I currently live in Tirana, Albania, where I have been settled for the past year eating far too many local pastries and drinking hundreds of espressos! I love this country, and feel lucky to have found a place with such kind people, beautiful weather, and rich culture. In my free time, I obsess over minutiae of geek culture and talk way too much about dogs!
